The Guest Bedroom!

The Guest Bedroom is 90% complete!

Which is done enough for me to feel like it's done!

We still have to refinish the floors, which we need to plan a nice long week to rent a sander and some friends to do the whole house. But until then, there are more important things to tackle! We also have to repaint the baseboards but that won't happen until we finish the floors, and we need to decorate. Decorating comes with time, I don't want to buy a bunch of crap because I want the room to look done. I want to buy a bunch of crap I like.

Oh, yeah we need to find some cool looking air vents! Hence the hole up in the wall near the ceiling.

I swear I'm currently saving up all of my cash I get to buy a camera that isn't my iPhone camera so someday I'll be able to post nice looking pictures of everything! Or, hint, hint, target registry. ;) 

By no means is this room done, but it's totally livable and doesn't have a creepy six disabled people painted and lived in this room feeling anymore. The first floor bathroom will be getting it's final coat of paint and it's fancy chair rails put up in the next few days and be stamped as done! Next up is master bedroom and dinning room! it's been a minute!

So Rick and I have been keeping busy with work, school, buying a new car, visiting Nebraska, and hanging out with his mom!

First and foremost,

         Happy Belated 60th Birthday Mom!
Growing up we really wanted to kill each other and now, I don't know what I'd do without you!
                                                                  Love you Mom!

Oh, Swoon!

The beginning of feverishly making decorations for the wedding!

This is Rambo complaining about how tired he is of dad, Aka, Rick chasing him around the house. The cats and I have been enjoying our time out on the porch in the morning and evenings when it's not ungodly hot out there. Today Rick and I got a hose splitter so now I have a hose up on the 2nd floor porch to water all of my plants! Yay!!!

So remember this room! Our guest bedroom!

We knocked out a wall to make the two tiny rooms into one big room....

We're putting up some chair rails and finishing painting the ceiling and just got brand new furniture delivered for it this weekend! So, it looks EVEN better! Yahoo!! 

Our living room/drawing room/ library is finally starting to get furnished! We haven't done anything to this room, and thank god it doesn't need too much. 

We still need too...

- put up crown moulding

-finish the floor

-paint the walls

-get fake fireplace stuff

-replace missing slats on the built in shutters

-build built in book cases on the wall to the right of the picture

-get new lights

Sounds like a lot, but at this point, it's all easy stuff!

Anyone in the market for a boat?

We got one for sale and we'll sell it to you for cheap!

After spilling out one hundred million swear words, Rick has successfully made the world's tiniest bathroom not so tiny and installed tiny little tiles on the floor! It looks great Rick!

We're still working on finishing the painting of it and popping up some chair rail and some decorations and it will be done! Yahoo!

In other news around the house... 

We scored a bunch of gym equipment so we'll soon have our own little home gym. I'm still nagging Rick for a treadmill, I need to keep researching and prove to him I really found the best valued one. 

Rick has painted his office on the third floor and is working on putting up chair railing and figuring out what to do with the bottom half of the room.

We're sort of really addicted to chair railing.

Our energy bills have not been insane! Knock on wood! We have two major A/C units one for the first floor and one for the second floor and then we have small portable and window units for the third floor.  We've had amazing success at keeping the second and first floor cool with just using the second floor unit. Yahoo!
